Tuesday, March 7 Police Beat

A red, 1999 Honda dirt bike was stolen out of the back of a truck bed at IHOP, 3102 Iowa. Mark Fulks, of Eudora, went in to eat and came outside to find that his dirt bike, which was strapped down in the back of his pickup truck, was gone. No suspects are known.

There was a forced entry at 834 Kentucky, nothing was reported stolen.

Amanda Whitaker of Lawrence reported an unknown substance in her gas tank. She did not know the location, date, or time that the substance appeared. However, her car broke down last Wednesday, and it was discovered that her engine suffered significant damage because of an unknown substance in the gasoline. There are no known suspects.

There was a theft reported at Naismith Hall. Stacey Stout, 20 year-old resident of Naismith Hall, reported that her Nikon digital camera was stolen. The cost is estimated at $500. There is an 18 year-old white male in custody, and an investigation is in progress.

A 17 year-old white male of Lawrence High School is in custody due to a possible drug confiscation. The student was taken into custody after a high school security guard suspected that the individual was in possession of illegal contraband. The student claimed that the substance was nothing more than herbs that he bought at a nutritional store. The property was taken to labs for testing, and the student is in juvenile intake.
