Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader, Marriott Classic Select Brands
Janis Milham is Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader for Marriott’s Classic Select Brands, which includes Courtyard, Fairfield, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites, TownePlace Suites, Four Points by Sheraton, Marriott Executive Apartments and Protea Hotels in South Africa. She has overall responsibility for brand positioning, long-range strategic brand planning, brand marketing and product development globally for the eight brands. Prior to this, she was Vice President and Global Brand Manager for Courtyard, leading the brand strategy for over 900 Courtyard hotels worldwide.
Janis started her Marriott career in 1988 when Marriott bought the Residence Inn brand.
While with Residence Inn, Janis held several positions including Regional Director of Sales and Marketing, Director of Field Sales, General Manager and Area Manager. She transitioned to the Courtyard brand in 1992 and held the position of Area Manager in the Pacific Northwest. In 1994, she joined full service and held the following positions in the San Francisco Bay Area: Resident Manager, San Francisco Marriott; General Manager, San Ramon Marriott; and Area General Manager of the East Bay.
Prior to joining the Brand Team at Marriott Headquarters in January of 2010, Janis was Area General Manager in Scottsdale, Arizona, where she oversaw two full-service Marriott hotels and nine CFRST hotels.
Previous to joining Marriott, she worked for a Marriott Franchise Partner and for Procter and Gamble. Janis is a graduate of the University of Kansas and holds a bachelor's degree in journalism.
