Chris Ronan (j'96) is public relations manager for Geocaching HQ, which powers a location-based treasure hunting game played by millions worldwide.
After earning a bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas, Chris began his career as sports anchor and reporter at KSNT in Topeka. He then returned to Lawrence to become sports director at 6News. After nearly five years covering KU and other local sports, Chris moved into the PR world as communications manager at Crown Center in Kansas City. He spent 14 years directing the company’s public relations, social media, web projects and video production. During that time, he returned to KU via the Edwards Campus in Overland Park to earn an master's degree in Journalism (Marketing Communications).
Chris was able to combine his hobby (geocaching) and love of the Pacific Northwest when he joined Geocaching HQ in Seattle. He lives there with his wife, Rachel, a fellow KU grad.
