Summary

Ayman Alhammad is a Ph.D. student at William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications. He was a journalist at foreign policy department in AlRiyadh newspaper in Saudi Arabia. At AlRiyadh, he worked in the department of international affairs for 11 years. During this time, he visited many countries in order to conduct interviews and wrote news stories, feature stories, and investigative reports. He had lengthy interviews with prominent politicians (e.g., Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister of India; Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia; Shinzō Abe, prime minister of Japan) as well as many others. Furthermore, he published a series of investigative reports on Iran’s controversial Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. International press agencies, such as Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Reuters, quoted and referenced some of my works. Moreover, during his work as international reporter, he investigated the emergence of China as a potential economic and political superpower and focused his attention on the media’s coverage regarding China’s relationship with the Middle East. He was even invited by China’s office of foreign affairs to participate in a seminar in Beijing discussing the Silk Road (“The One Belt One Road Initiative”) and its political and cultural implications to the Middle East.

After the long trip in journalism business, he moved to academia since 2016 as lecturer at Mass Communication college at Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), beside of that, he joined to Alekhbariya Television as presenter and editor-in-chief of daily show program. On January 2020, he started the first semester of his doctoral program at William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications to purse Ph.D. degree. Ayman holds BA and MA in public relations from King Saud University. Ayman discovers corporate communication and public relations research area. As researcher with a journalistic background, his research projects focus on developing message and audience.
